Center for CBT

In order to facilitate the acomplisment of the goals, programs, and services of the Romanian Association of CBT, in 2001, in collaboration with the ASCR (Romanian Association of Cognitive Sciences) it was founded the “Romanian Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies”, a representative and an affiliate of the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA, in Romania, and a training center of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA, in Romania. It has been redefined as its own structure by the Romanian Association of CBT in 01.10.2005 and it a joint-Center of the Romanian Association of CBT and of the International Institute.

Notes: New Romanian professionals trained in CBT/REBT (at the Associate Fellowship or Supervisory levels) can be included in the Board with a majority of votes of the current Board members.

III. STRUCTURE

Divisions:

Rules related to the organization of the divisions:

Divisions can be coordinated ONLY by people trained in CBT/REBT, at the Associate Fellowship or Supervisory Levels;

Coordinators SHOULD be members of the Board and they are elected by a majority of votes by the Board members;

New Divisions can be approved ONLY by a majority of votes of the Board members;

Each Division will have: (1) a curricula (including the names of the professionals delivering the courses and supervisions); (2) admission criteria (e.g., educational level of trainees); and (3) a dissemination (e.g., the planned number and locations of trainings each year) and a financial plan (e.g., fee for trainings) for training, that are to be approved by the Director of the Institute, at the beginning of each year (until January 15);

Each Division, through its coordinators, will send the annual project proposal including the curricula, admission criteria, and the dissemination and financial plan, by December 15, to be approved for the next year. Also, by December 15, each division will send an Activity Report for the current year to the Director of the Institute. The Director of the Institute will present the Board members a general report of the activities (including the financial status) for the current year (between December 15 and 17);

The names of the professionals delivering the courses and supervisions, as well as the number and locations of the trainings can be changed with the approval of the Director of the Institute, to fit unexpected changes or new solicitations for training;

Each particular training program (including the names and the admission criteria of each participant) will be submitted by the coordinators –before its implementation–, to be (re)confirmed by the Director of the Institute, based on each Division’s rules;

The names and credentials (e.g., license diploma) of the trainees will be registered by the secretary of the Institute, and only she, under the approval of the Director, will send this information to the Albert Ellis Institute, New-York, USA or to the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA, in order to obtain the international diplomas.

When a coordinator contacts our umbrella organization (e.g., the Albert Ellis Institute) or other present or potential collaborators, they SHOULD mention their affiliation as in the below example:

If the coordinator contacts our collaborators in his/her name then he/she should mention explicitly that the request or the issue is not related to his/her involvement/position in the Romanian Institute of CBT/REBT.
