Professional Training

Training programs in psychotherapyare organized by the International Institute through the Romanian Association of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (Romanian Association of CBT), – the oldest and the largest Romanian society/organization of CBT and a component of the Division of Training of the International Institute-, and through its Romanian Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies (renamed in 2007 as the Center for Evidence-Based Assessment and Psychotherapy). The Division of Trainings is made up by all Faculty members of the International Institute. The coordinator of the Division is Dr. Daniel David. The Romanian Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapies is a Training Center of both the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA (for the first phase of the application to the Academy) and the Albert Ellis Institute, USA.

The Romanian Association of CBT is a member of both national accreditation bodies in psychotherapy:

  1. Romanian Federation of Psychotherapy
  2. National Council of Counseling and Psychotherapy-Romanian Psychological Association
  3. Romanian Board of Psychologists

as well as in the international accreditation bodies:

  1. European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies;
  2. European Association for Psychotherapy

and therefore, we endorse their certification criteria. Thus, our training programs are recognized by all these accrediting bodies. Moreover the training program in rational-emotive & cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies is also certified by the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, USA whereas the training program in cognitive therapy is accredited (as the first phase application) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, USA.
